Fashion inspo based on 9 indie artists that should be on your radar

I’ve had a penchant for predicting the next big thing in music since my Tumblr days in 2012, when I was deep into Sky Ferreira, Frank Ocean, and early Lana Del Rey. And before you ask: yes—I was the first of all my friends to listen to Chappell Roan.

I got the idea to talk about fashion and music from this YouTube video by Phoebe Taylor. Phoebe created several style mood boards based on popular artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, and many more. So I thought: why not do a similar exercise for the indie artists I’m obsessed with?

Instead of putting these artists into groups, I put my own spin on Phoebe’s idea by making a separate board for each artist.

Each artist’s mood board has a few keywords at the top to describe the styles and aesthetics I think their music evokes, followed by adjectives to describe their overall sound at the bottom.
