Asked and answered. You’re in the right place.

Hi! I’m Emily and welcome to The Emsider 💖🍒👩🏻‍💻

I’m a maximalist fashion girlie who lives in and was born and raised in NYC.

On top of creating content for Substack, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok, I balance a job in corporate America, if you can believe that.

People in real life know me for my strong and distinct personal style, and uncanny ability to discover cool brands and music before the general public. My online presence is my attempt to share this with the masses.

This Substack is where you’ll find my extended thoughts on indie brands I love, secondhand finds, fashion and beauty trends, leaning into your personal style, and so much more. You know what they say: when you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, go ahead and create it.

My family, friends, and day ones might remember the No Repeats or Hesitations days. Think of The Emsider as NRoH reimagined. For new folks here, No Repeats or Hesitations was my WordPress fashion blog that I started in my college dorm room and ran as a passion project from 2014-2020.

How does Substack work? How can I stay updated with what you post?

There are 3 ways to view my Substack posts: direct web link, email, and through the Substack app.

You can always visit emilypolner.substack.com to see the latest.

BUT—if you officially subscribe—you have the option to get my new posts delivered right to your inbox. If you don’t want to receive emails, though, you can still subscribe but get notified in the Substack app instead (this is what I do, because I subscribe to 20+ Substacks at this point and getting them emailed was way too overstimulating).
